Behind the Skeins Tour 2016
Friday, November 11th 9am-5pm

Shibui Knits

The Traveling Ewe™ will be going Behind the Skeins™ again this year to show you some of the fun fibery things in the Portland, Oregon area that knitters, crocheters and spinners don’t usually get to see!

We will start the day in Tualatin at the Ashland Bay warehouse. Ashland Bay is a national wholesale supplier of yarn and fiber to yarn companies located right here in our own back yard! They will give us a tour of their warehouse and explain a little about what the do.

Next we will stop at Shibui Knits in downtown Portland. Shibui is a national yarn company that grew from Knit/Purl and we will learn about their yarn, what they do and how they do it at this stop.

We will make a stop for lunch then head to JaMpdx for a chance to see their pottery studio and their beautiful ceramic yarn bowls, mugs, needle holders and more. This location does have steep steps and is not wheelchair or walker friendly. Please let me know if you need extra assistance.

Lastly we will be stopping at the Knitted Wit studio to see some of Ashland Bay’s yarn being dyed up! We will get a tour of their dye studio, get to see how their yarn is dyed and then how it is prepared for sale.

Notes
This fun and educational tour is $99 per person and includes transportation on a luxury coach with a professional driver and a delicious lunch.

If you have a special dietary requirement, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. We are also happy to accommodate physical restrictions; this is actually a great way to travel for someone that uses a walker or cane, as you get door to door drop offs with minimal walking required. If you have these or other special requirements, please do let us know by selecting the appropriate item from the drop down menu when you register. We’ll then contact you directly to discuss details.

Please read our Helpful Hints & Rules page before booking your trip! Remember – your trip is non-refundable.
