Civil War Day Trip
August 16, 2014
Come join The Traveling Ewe™ on a fun Civil War Day Trip™ excursion to explore yarn and sheep in the Corvallis and Eugene areas. Make sure you wear your school colors to represent if you are a Duck or Beaver…or both!
We will be leaving Wilsonville City Hall at 8:30am sharp with coffee, tea and pastries and our current knitting projects to work on as we travel south in our luxury coach, driven by an experienced and professional driver.
Our first stop will be the sweet downtown Corvallis shop of Stash. The lovely Stash Enhancers will have a gift for each of us, then we will have about an hour to shop and explore their lovely yarns, books and patterns before we hop back on our swanky coach.
Next we head to Dayspring Farm, just outside Corvallis. Linda from Bellwether Wools will introduce us to her Cormo sheep, give us a little tour of the farm and (if the weather cooperates) a herding demonstration with one of the farm dogs.
We then head to Eugene where we will have lunch at The Cannery and a pint of one of their many beers, a glass of wine, or soda.
There are three entrée options for lunch, please see details in the Lunch Menu Options tab then choose which you would like from the pull down menu when you are ready to book your ticket. One option (the salad) was specifically designed to be vegan and gluten and nut free. If you have a special dietary issue that is not met by any of the options, the restaurant will be happy to accommodate you, just let us know in advance by choosing the appropriate option from the pull down menu.
Next stop is Soft Horizons, a beautiful shop located in an old victorian house.
Our last stop for the day will be Textiles a Manos which specializes in beautiful hand-dyed yarns, many of them exclusive to the shop. Textiles a Manos is offering a discount of 10% (15% for cash transactions) to our crawlers.
Expect to arrive back in Wilsonville around 6:30pm, tired, a little poorer and with some great memories!
