Salem Stitch Hunt
January 31, 2015
Join The Traveling Ewe™ for our Salem Stitch Hunt™! We will leave from Wilsonville at 9:00am, arriving at the Mission Mill Museum at 10am for a private, docent led tour of the museum. The tour will cover the history of the old woolen mill and how it operated and we will learn about the wool industry in Oregon at the very beginning of the state.
We will then have some time to shop at Teaswick Wools, conveniently located right there at the Mill. They have a lovely selection of yarns, with some fun sock yarns.
Afterwards, we will head to Rafn’s for a delightful lunch. They work directly with Oregon growers to provide the highest quality food products available. Their goal is to support farming practices that respect our land and strengthen our community. Please see the lunch options tab for your lunch choices.
After lunch we will make our way to Tangled Purls, a lovely shop on Commercial Street for you to do a little more shopping. Tangled Purls has a lovely selection of locally produced and dyed yarns as well as a rather amazing array of knit samples and patterns to choose from.
Next we will make a coffee break stop at Gerry Frank’s Konditorei for a cup of coffee (or tea, milk, or soda) and your choice of a slice of amazing cake.
We will be taking these to go on the bus as we head towards Silverton and the last yarn shop of the day, Apples to Oranges. They also have a large selection of locally made yarns as well as some fun gift items. We will arrive back in Wilsonville about 6pm.
This adventure includes transportation on a luxury motorcoach driven by a professional driver, a guided tour of the Mission Mill Museum, lunch at Rafns to include your choice of lunch options and coffee, tea, iced tea or an Old Fashioned Soda, a cup of coffee, tea, milk or soda and a slice of cake or cookie of your choice (a few gluten-free options are available) at Gerry Frank’s Konditorei, as well as a bottle of water during the day.
